General Project Scope:

HOMRICH was contracted to perform the demolition and abatement of the 280,000 square foot Stearns & Foster Facility. Project highlights include:

Hauling and disposal of contaminated debris piles.
Abatement of asbestos spray-on fireproofing, pipe insulation and joints.
Complete demolition of 280,000 square foot of building and associated concrete slabs and foundations.
Building was a combination of wood, steel, and concrete.
Coordinated demolition adjacent to active rail system with Norfolk Southern Railway. The 3-story building was located only 25 feet from active rail.
Removal and decommissioning of electrical transformers containing greater than 500 ppm PCB’s.
Abandonment and installation of underground utilities.
Site restoration.
