General Project Scope:

HOMRICH was contracted by the State of Michigan to decommission and demolish the former Highland Park High School. Prior to demolition, HOMRICH disconnected all utilities and safely removed asbestos containing materials, universal wastes and miscellaneous chemicals left behind after the school was closed.

The sprawling 425,000 square foot building included two stories and a full basement. All below grade tunnels, vaults, pits, foundations, and basement slabs were removed to leave a clean site ready for redevelopment. An underground storage tank was pumped, cleaned, and removed as part of the project.

In all, nearly 35,000 tons of debris was processed and hauled to local recycling and disposal facilities.
