General Project Scope:

White Hall was a 440,000 square foot, 4-story structure that sat atop a 168,000 square foot crawlspace. It was the largest building owned by the Department of Defense prior to construction of the Pentagon.

Due to deteriorating conditions, the entire building was set up in negative pressure containment and the interior contents were removed as asbestos waste. Once the building was cleared of all hazardous materials, HOMRICH demolished the building and foundations, recycling 80,000 tons of concrete and brick.

HOMRICH completed the project by importing and placing 50,000 tons of backfill and topsoil. The site was graded to match existing grades, seeded and mulched.

The project started in 2015 and finished on schedule in September of 2016 with no recordable injuries or near misses.
