Operations and Estimating Assistant

Job description:

Homrich has been an industry leader providing demolition and environmental services to clients throughout the Midwest since 1964. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant for the Operations and Estimating departments. This is a full-time in-person position reporting to Homrich’s main office at 200 Matlin Road in Carleton, MI. This position will provide support to various Homrich projects, project managers, superintendents, and estimators.

Responsibilities:

• Filing and maintaining notifications for demolition and asbestos abatement with state agencies.
• Obtaining permits for projects from various municipalities and agencies.
• Working with Homrich’s bonding and insurance agencies to acquire appropriate insurance and bonding documentation for each project.
• Researching, requesting and gathering appropriate documentation for utility disconnects.
• Assisting with the preparation of invoices, change orders, schedules and other project documentation.
• Maintaining worker credentials in Homrich’s field management software, FieldFlo.
• Arranging training and medical evaluations for employees.
• Ensure select proposal and bid documents are accurate, complete, and comply with company standards and client requirements.
• Notarizing documents as required, ensuring all notarizations are performed accurately and legally.
• Monitoring deadlines and ensure timely submission of all proposals and bids.
• General administrative support to the Operations and Estimating departments.
• Prepare Weekly Operations Meeting agendas

Junior Estimator

HOMRICH has been an industry leader providing demolition and environmental services to clients throughout the Midwest since 1964. In an effort to continue to support our current clientele, we are looking for a Junior Estimator for our Carleton, Michigan office.

Requirements:

• Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred
• Ideal candidate will be energetic, creative and a hardworking professional

Responsibilities:

• To actively search out, quantify, estimate, negotiate and select projects
• Ability to use Onscreen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Evernote will be required in the daily functions
• Individual will be working in a fast-paced environment, must be a self-starter and be able to work independently
• Individual will be traveling to job sites throughout the Midwest and will be working with a Senior Estimator throughout the bidding process

The position is located in Carleton, MI and requires approximately 25% travel.

Tractor/Trailer Mechanic

HOMRICH has been an industry leader providing demolition and environmental services to clients throughout the Midwest since 1964. We are seeking a qualified Tractor/Trailer Mechanic. This is a great opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated individual who is interested in working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Must have a strong knowledge regarding the safe handling and operation of trailers, tractors, hydraulics, suspensions, air brakes, fabrication, electrical systems, body repairs, trailer parts, and supplies, etc.
• Valid driver’s license with a Class A CDL A endorsement
• Welding experience 

Responsibilities:

• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on all tractor and trailers including:
  • Diagnosing equipment malfunctions (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic)
  • Diagnosing mechanical failures and determine how to fix them
• Repair and replace brakes, adjusting and aligning wheels, tightening bolts and screws, and reassembling equipment
• Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining trailers, mechanical equipment, and machinery, such as breaks, tires and suspension
• Perform safety inspections on tractors and trailers making sure that documentation required by the FMCSA, DOT, Federal, State and local regulations is adequate
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals while working closely with the Shop Manager

The position is located in Carleton, MI.

Truck Driver

HOMRICH has been an industry leader providing demolition and environmental services to clients throughout the Midwest since 1964. We are seeking qualified Truck Drivers. This is a great opportunity for experienced, self-motivated individuals who are interested in working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Experience driving tractors and trailers preferably in the demolition industry
• Have a clean driving record
• Have a good attendance record and are able to work long hours as necessary
• Have an understanding of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• The ability to perform basic mathematics skills
• Positive and enthusiastic attitude with a “whatever it takes” mindset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to complete tasks independently without direct supervision
• Ability to work in various seasonal temperatures and conditions
• Experience with Microsoft applications is a plus
• NEED YOUR DOUBLES AND TRAINS ENDORSEMENT

Responsibilities:

• Transport demolition materials to local landfills, steel mills, and other destinations
• Perform routine daily inspections of assigned trucks and trailers
• Work with the Transportation Manager to ensure that routine maintenance is performed on assigned trucks and trailers
• Prepare and submit daily log reports along with load and time tickets
• Keep assigned equipment clean and organized
• Low Boy, Lead, 5-Axle, Doubles, Etc.
