General Project Scope:

HOMRICH was contracted to perform the demolition and abatement of the former Metro Health Facility which included two buildings, a water tower and approximately 30,000 container yards of buried debris. The abatement portion included:

  • 25,000 linear foot of pipe insulation
  • 250,000 square foot of floor tile and mastic removal
  • 50,000 square foot of ceiling plaster removal
  • 500+ windows with ACM caulk and glazing
  • Lead-based paint removal
  • Abatement of 2,110 linear foot of steam tunnel and associated line
  • Removal of all universal waste, e.g, bulbs, ballast, mercury switches
  • Removal of Bio Hazard waste

The demolition scope included the following:

  • Complete demolition of 265,000 square foot of building and associated foundations and footings
  • On-site crushing of approximately 25,000 tons of concrete to be used as approved backfill
  • Felling of a 120-foot water tower
  • Hand demolition of a 60-foot smoke stack
  • Removal of 2,110 linear foot of Steam Tunnel
  • 95,000 square foot of site paving
